COMMEMORATING THE AUSSIE WAY

On Saturday the 20th of August this year, the RMIT University in Saigon held a commemorative football match in honour of the soldiers who fought in the battle of long tan 50 years ago.

Local Aussies playing in both the Cambodian Eagles and the Vietnam Swans, showcased a competitive match, not holding back in the Saigon heat.

Starting off the match with a minute silence, the players locked in arms to remember the Australians and Vietnamese that lost their life in the battle.

It was a close match, but the local favourites held the lead, winning by 13 points in the end.

But unlike other matches, the players from each team celebrated together over a chat and a cold beer.
